Sailing is one of the greatest sports available, and with the help of Youth Afloat's qualified and experienced staff it has never been easier to feel the instant thrill of the wind and waves. Most people learn very quickly so in no time you could be using our wide range of dinghies suitable for beginners and the more experienced.

RYA

The RYA Training Scheme provides awards at different levels from beginner to the more advanced.
RYA Dinghy Courses

Also offered are Dinghy Instructor Pre-entry Assessments, Dinghy Instructor Courses and Powerboat Instructor Courses. As well as an RYA Centre Youth Afloat is also an RS Acadamy using a full range of RS boats and training training and support for them.

NSSA

Youth Afloat is also recognised as a National School Sailing Association Centre and as such issues the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. The NSSA Awards are intended to provide a series of easy stages towards learning to sail. The awards are designed to encourage good seamanship through the development of crewing skills, teamwork and competent helmsmanship. They are equally applicable to single- or double-handed boats as the same principals apply.
